Sharla Sosa, MSN, MBA, CNPT Certified Neonatal Pediatric Transport

Administrative Nursing Education

I began my career in healthcare in 2001 as a paramedic and became an RN in 2007. My nursing career began at Valley Baptist Pediatric ICU, where I worked for over a year. I then began traveling in 2008. In my traveling, I was able to work different PICUs and ERs to learn different cultures and care provided to the community. Once I returned home, I began my career with Driscoll Children’s Hospital flight team for 5 years. I then began the education role within a hospital system. I was able to begin transport teams to help with transporting neonatal and pediatric patients into higher levels of care.

I went back to college to obtain my BSN and MSN to better understand why research was an important factor within the growing nursing profession. My love didn’t just stop at Master’s degree, I am currently enrolled in a doctoral program to learn how the education system is managed and better prepare myself as an instructor for nurses.

I currently am full time instructor for an ADN program and teach in medical-surgical and maternal health. I have always had a passion for education and the changing technology that is abundant within the pediatric world has concepts that are upcoming to the RGV. I began teaching to put the passion back into nursing and the love of truly caring for a patient. I grew up in the RGV and I can honestly say this is home and I want the best care for the patients despite their past experiences.

While working here at Little Miracles Home Health, I plan to help educate the staff members with new technology, provide continuing education annually, provide quality assurance within the business, and help develop performance improvement project to help Little Miracles Home Health be the best for their patients.
